Uber makes it easy to request a ride for your friend. After entering your friend’s pickup spot in the app, you select Someone else as the rider and enter their phone number to simplify the pickup process. The remainder of the request is similar to hailing a ride for yourself.
Lyft
Lyft encourages its users to request rides for their friends. The Lyft app allows a user to enter any pickup address and request a ride. The company recommends contacting the driver to say that the rider is a guest and not the account user.
