Can Uber or Lyft drivers refuse dogs?
Uber: Uber driver-partners are allowed to refuse fares that include non-service dogs but are required by law to allow service dogs with their owners. Lyft: Lyft allows drivers to refuse passenger requests if those passengers are accompanied by non-service dogs.
Can Uber or Lyft drivers bring their dog?
Uber: Uber allows service dogs to ride with their owners. Each driver-partner is allowed to decide whether or not to drive passengers with non-service dogs. Lyft: Lyft drivers allow service dogs to ride with passengers but are given latitude on whether to accept passengers with non-service dogs.
Can I request a female Uber or Lyft driver?
Unfortunately you cannot select a preference of driver on either service. You can however choose your individual driver on Waze Carpool.
Are Uber or Lyft drivers self employed?
Uber and Lyft drivers are considered independent contractors rather than employees. Both companies do not pay Social Security, Medicare, or state taxes for their drivers nor do they pay into unemployment funds. A self-employed driver is required to file as independent contractors on their state and federal income tax returns.
