Uber Ride Pass is a monthly subscription plan that costs $24.99 per month. The main benefit of the plan is protection against unforeseen surge prices caused by high demand, traffic, weather, and time of day. Ride Pass covers both UberX and Uber Pool, and includes 30 minutes of free JUMP bike usage per day. Ride Pass is currently only available in select cities. Members also enjoy free deliveries on Uber Eats.

Many riders ask if it’s worth it to shell out the $24.99 per month for the plan. It really all depends on frequency of usage. For someone who relies on Uber to commute to and from work or school each day during rush hour, you may walk away ahead by purchasing the subscription. For most riders who use the service occasionally, it most likely will not save you any money.

Riders can sign up for Uber Ride pass directly within the app, by clicking the main menu icon in the top left corner, and selecting the Ride Pass option. Ride Pass can be cancelled in the same section of the app. There is no yearly contract or commitment required, and membership can be cancelled at any time. Membership will renew automatically unless cancelled.

The comparable Lyft membership service is Lyft Pink.
